newDATA9200 Description

NewDATA9200 is a GSM/HSCSD Data modem for the Nokia Communicator 9210/9290. Although the Communicator is an excellent means of data entry when on the move, the keyboard, and screen are a bit small when at home, or in the hotel room. Why not use the big screen, and keyboard of your Laptop or PC, coupled via the serial cable to the Communicator when you not on the move.
Just connect the serial port of your laptop, or PC via the Nokia DLR-2P cable to the communicator. Now start a terminal emulation application on your PC.
  • To dial the telephone number of the remote host, and setup the connection very simply from newDATA9200, just press the "dial" button.
  • To wait for an incoming DATA call, just press the "answer" button.
NewDATA9200 and newDIALin9200 make an ideal pair:
  • NewDIALin9200 when on the move
  • NewDATA9200 when connections via GSM are still needed from a static location.
NewDATA 9200 also includes an AnsaFone feature to automatically send a text immediately after the call is connected. This is mainly used when receiving calls, to immediately reply with a message to the incoming call. The call can then, if required, be afterwards automatically dropped.
The text can include any text, or control characters. This feature is often requested by deaf users, who can then use newDATA9200 as a communication medium, and answering device. NewDATA 9200 stores the last 20 remote telephone numbers connected to, to help the user easily select different hosts without having to enter their numbers for each connection. Users making use of the Communicator built in Contacts application, can select their telephone numbers directly from this database. Communications can be difficult to setup, and for this reason newDATA9200 includes a powerful capture mode. All data can be captured into a data file for later analysis.
In addition to this, newDATA9200 has a "screen logging" mode where all the data transfered will be displayed instantly on the screen with the time sent, or received and direction. NewDATA 9200 is a shareware program. It is fully functional, but will remind the user at regular intervals that he should register. After 30 Days it will expire, and not allow any more connections to be made. The registration can be made simply via one of the registration partners. Languages: English, German
